Self-care is the intentional practice of taking time to prioritize your physical, mental, and emotional health. It’s not just about pampering yourself but engaging in activities that restore energy, relieve stress, and promote overall well-being. From setting boundaries to practicing mindfulness or nourishing your body, self-care helps us recharge, handle challenges more effectively, and build resilience. Embracing self-care is an essential part of living a balanced life, reminding us to check in with ourselves regularly and make space for growth, rest, and self-compassion.
It is important to find time for yourself to recharge your batteries. We are not robots and we need resetting from time to time. I have been struggling for many years as I never had enough time to complete my daily task, I just had too much on my to do list which was overtaking my personal needs. Until not long ago I realize that I cannot live like this no more, as I was struggling mentally and this was affecting my family. I now try to look after myself I change my diet and I exercise regularly. I spend more time with family in or out. Walking any time I possible can even on my lunch breaks at work, I have limited my screen time, and focussed on my hobbies.
